Some have tried to make words like doctrine, theology and intellect seem like dirty words in context of our hearts and love for Jesus. It can be easier to acknowledge that love for Jesus needs to be heart-felt, sincere and passionate, than that it needs to be intellectual, and doctrinally sound. But Jesus is clear on the fact that the idea for our love and seeking of him, is that it is done with all of our minds. We need to know him to love him.
