Matthew 5:31-32

Title:  The Cliff, the Slope, and the Path
Passages:  Matthew 5:31-32
Series:   Sermon on the Mount: The Way of Jesus
Speaker:   Pastor Jason

If marriage is a path, then some would see divorce as a diverging of trails. But the Sermon on the Mount reinforces that God’s ideal for marriage doesn’t include forks in the road. There’s the path, there are slopes, and there are cliffs. And so, the Way of Jesus in Matthew 5:31-32 contains warning and creates caution, all for the purpose of people experiencing the profound grace of the marriage journey. This week is all about the fact that followers of Jesus, married or not, are called to ensure the Way of Jesus is embodied in our marriages.
