"JOY" BUS TRIP TO WARM BEACH LIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS
A busload full of "JOY", left FLEFC's parking lot on Thursday, Dec. 12 afternoon heading South to the Warm Beach Lights of Christmas presentation.
Although it was rainy and cold, inside the bus it was pleasant and comfortable. Our first stop was at the border where all had to go through the border formality. Soon we were on the way again. Ben Bergen passed out song sheets and while every one was getting ready to sing some Christmas carols, Ben entertained the group with some funny stories that made us all laugh. The rain stopped by the time we arrived about 1.5 hours later in Warm Beach were we were greeted by an ocean of Christmas lights. It is said that over 1 million lights are on display in wonderful arrangements, colours and shapes telling the Christmas story all by themselves. The entire area is so enchanting that you are drawn from one scene to the next, surrounded by drifts of fragrances of Christmas past. As if the light show was not enough, we all met again at the Cedar Lodge where our group attended the Dinner Theatre presenting "Grace on Deck", a delightful story of passengers on-board a cruise-ship on the way to a sunny destination. The dinner was
outstanding, complimented by the entertainment. Not really wanting to
leave we soon needed to board our comfortable bus and head north again.
"Please have your border document filled out and ready when asked for at the border". It only took brief stop but yes.. all the sleepy folks needed to get off the bus. We arrived at the church a little after midnight, albeit a little drowsy, very happy and impressed by all we experienced. A heart-felt thanks to the JOY committee, especially Ben, who continue to arrange such wonderful events... We're confident that every one will be eagerly looking forward to the next outing.
