As previously announced, the FLEFC board is endorsing the pastoral search team’s recommendation of Erwin Van Ramshorst as the candidate for the Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults role. The board is grateful for the search team’s investment of time, hard work, and prayer into the process and decision.
You can find Erwin’s cover letter, resume and philosophy of ministry below.
Erwin (with his wife Renee) will be flying out June 4-7 to candidate. On top of meetings with staff and leadership at that time, Erwin will be meeting with youth and their families, youth leaders, and with young adults. There will also be an opportunity for the rest of the congregation to get to meet Erwin and have a Q&A with him over Zoom at 11am on Sunday, June 7th. We will provide the opportunity for members to join us live, to a maximum of thirty people, with priority given to those who don’t have the ability to join us through Zoom.
For members who will help to discern Erwin’s call to FLEFC, we ask you to prioritize joining us (online or live) to get to know Erwin and Renee.
Following the candidating weekend, we are calling a special Congregational Meeting at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 11 to vote on calling Erwin as our Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at FLEFC. The meeting will be conducted mainly over Zoom, but we will offer an opportunity for people to come to the church building, with priority given to those who don’t have the ability to join us through Zoom. As with any congregational meeting/vote, we will need to have quorum. We will provide a way to vote online, and will be providing alternate means of voting for those who require that.
Members, please RSVP to [email protected] to give us an idea in advance of attendance and meeting quorum. For those who want or need to join us in person, we need you to contact us in advance so that we can plan accordingly. If you would like help setting up Zoom on your phone, computer or tablet, we can try to help with that too!
Continue to pray for the Van Ramshorsts, and for clarity for us and them in discerning God’s call to a pastoral role here.
