Introducing our New Pastor!
We are delighted to share with you that Erwin Van Ramshorst, with the agreement and support of his wife Renee, has accepted the call to FLEFC as our Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults. The Van Rahshorsts are going to make their way out West in mid-July, to settle in before Erwin starts in his role here at the beginning of August.

Summer Seeking!

Our SUMMER SEEKING opportunities are ways of Seeking God, Seeking Growth and Seeking Good- organically, and intentionally.
1) Zoom Sharing Sunday- July 5th
2) LetterS from Lockdown
3) Reappearing Church

HOME CHURCH SERVICE

Series: Philippians: A Letter from Lockdown
    Message:  Philippians 3:12-21
     Speaker:  Pastor Jason
           Title:
Pressing On

Today's message took on more of a Bible study format. Begin by praying together for sentiviity to the voice and presence of the Holy Spirit in worship and in this encounter with God's word!

Discussion

1) Discuss how the heart of Seeking God, Seeking Growth, and Seeking Good all come out in this passage.

2) This passage is filled with strong and vibrant descriptors of what it means to press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Discuss a couple of ideas from the list below that you feel that God is most impressing on you through his word. Share and discuss any questions that come to mind as you reflect on these ideas from God's word.

***Press On= Dokios: the same word used most commonly in the New Testament to describe a level of persecution that results in chasing. Pressing on is a zealous and resolved act.
*** I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own.
*** Forgetting what lies behind...
*** Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.
*** for the PRIZE of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
*** Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. (One anothering)

3) In the COVID-19 season: In a season where Paul could not go out on mission, or worship with other Jesus-followers...in a season where he could not listen to preaching and where he could not preach... he could declare that he was still pressing on, unhindered, after resurrected life in Jesus.

--Discuss honestly the reasons that this season can (or has) become more about pausing than pressing on.
--Discuss what might ensue, and what God might do through us, if we came back together after this season noticeably transformed because of the pressing on that happened in our individual lives.
--Discuss what you can do to commit to pressing on in the coming months. (Might the LetterS from Lockdown Bible Reading Plan, and/or reading of Reappearing Church be a good place for you and a friend to start?) If not that, then what? (Get specific!)

This month, we are encouraging you to continue with the Reach Out FLAG initiative for the duration of this COVID season. In addition to checking in with others, let us be intentional in our prayer.

This FLAG initiative is inspired by Philippians 1:8-11!
Intercessory prayer is one place where our heart for God and heart for others meet in a wonderful way. It's humbling to know that someone is praying for you, and it can be a huge encouragement to know what they are praying for you. Write-and-Send your prayer for someone to them by mail, email, text, WhatsApp or other social media!

This is a season for us to take care of one another and our community. May we grow and flourish in what it means to do "one anothering" well at this time, and may this include a growing comfort to reach out to one another in our time of need so we can love, serve, encourage, and otherwise care for one another.  If you are not sure where to start, or who to talk to contact us through [email protected]

GIVING

In this season of drastic changes, the church continues to live out God's mission for us. We are finding and taking incredible opportunities to Seek God, Seek Growth and Seek Good for our neighbours. We ask you to prayerfully consider what faithful giving and worshipful stewardship look like in this season!
