Exodus / Underdogs
Week 2

BIG IDEA God’s Kindness brings people together

GOD STORY Moses in Midian Exodus 2:11–22

Moses was a Hebrew baby who was rescued out of the Nile River by an Egyptian princess. He lived in the palace of the Pharoah. His birth family—God’s people—were enslaved by the Egyptians. In today’s story, Moses runs away from Egypt to save his own life. In Midian, he gives and receives kindness. Moses learns that God’s kindness brings people together

Watch this weeks’ video or read the STORY IN Exodus 2:11-22 and then answer the following questions:

1 - Why did Moses have to run away from Egypt? (He killed an Egyptian)
2 - When Moses arrived in Midian, where did he sit down to rest? (At a well)
3 - Who came to water their flocks at the well? (The seven daughters of the priest)
4 - Who chased them away? (Shepherds)
5 - How did Moses show kindness at the well? (He rescued the girls from the shepherds, then gave water to their flocks of sheep)
6 - How did the girls’ father return Moses’s kindness? (He invited Moses to stay with them)
7 - Kindness brought together the people in this story. Can you think of an example from your own life when kindness helped bring people together? If so, what happened?

MEMORY VERSE [God said,] “My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So I am very happy to brag about how weak I am. Then Christ’s power can rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIRV)
Pray, “God, help me to show kindness to the people I meet this week. Amen.”
