FLEFC has for several years now, as part of a City of Langley beautification project, has adopted a street in Fort Langley where we are responsible to keep it free of liter during the year.  Lee Dornian has dutifully kept up the responsibility of maintaining this street but has now passed this care back to the Fort Family.

We would really appreciate your help.  This is a great way to spend time with family & friends as you serve the community.

The street we are responsible for is Billy Brown Road, located just past the tracks - first left.  It is the whole street, both sides. This area is mostly residential with a bit of green space as it comes up to the 96th intersection. So, this route is very pedestrian friendly and safe, and thus one doesn't have to worry about getting into ditches etc.

As this is an initiative through the city, they provide everything we need, bags, liter tongs, visibility vests, gloves etc.  There is a small report to fill out when completed, that we must submit to the city monthly.  We are only expected to do this once a month (hopefully around the same time every month - so that one family isn't doing it the last week of August and then next family the first week of September.  We do want to be respectful of everyone’s schedules but if you were able to sign-up, we would like there to be a few weeks in between cleaning duties.  But it is not a hard and set schedule – what day of the week and time you do this is up to your availability.

Please register here or contact the office at  (office@flefc.org) or phone (604-888-7131) to be put on a schedule or to get more information.  As this is an ongoing project, we will be assigning people a particular month.  So, if you are interested, please tell us what month(s) you would like to volunteer for.

Note that we only require registration of one person per month, however feel free to put your name down to represent your family or a group of friends.  We only need one official contact.
